Herschel Walker is widely regarded as one of football's greatest running backs. He led the University of Georgia to victory in the Sugar Bowl on the way to an NCAA Championship and he capped a sensational college career by earning the 1982 Heisman Trophy. Walker spent twelve years in the NFL, where he rushed for more than eight thousand yards and scored sixty-one rushing touchdowns.
Despite the acclaim he won as a football legend, track star, Olympic competitor and later a successful businessman, Walker realized that his life, at times, was simply out of control. He often felt angry,
self-destructive, and unable to connect meaningfully with friends and family. Drawing on his deep faith, he turned to professionals for help and was ultimately diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, formerly known
as multiple personality disorder.
In Breaking Free, Walker tells his story -- from the joys and hardships of childhood to his explosive impact on college football to his remarkable professional career. His account testifies to the strength of the human
spirit and its ability to overcome any challenge.
Herschel Walker will sign copies of Breaking Free from 7-9 p.m. only. We expect a very large crowd. In order to reserve a place in the signing line, you must pre-purchase the book from A Cappella Books, either in the store
(484-C Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta 30307), online <http://www.acappellabooks.com/index.htm> A Cappella Books or by phone (404-681-5123).

those who have reserved copies, he will sign additional copies. He cannot sign any other items besides copies of Breaking Free purchased from A Cappella Books.
